Bassnectar NYE 360

Bassnectar NYE 360 2018-2019

Bassnectar NYE 2018-2019 was nothing short of absolutely amazing. After attending various different curated events by the one and only Bassgod, I can confidently say that this was by far the best experience, and show, I’ve had to date. Not only were the music and visuals amazing, but Greensboro welcomed the Basshead community with open arms. If you’ve never attended a Bassnectar curated event, then you are missing out. He takes the time to establish his own safety team, as well as areas that people are free to sit down and relax, as well as flow with their toys!

Artists

Starting the night off was artists Anna Morgan. Initially I wasn’t very familiar with this artists, however after looking into her soundcloud, I was excited to see what she would bring to ‘Nectar NYE. Although I wasn’t able to catch the entirety of her set, the ending of it was pretty good! Staying true to the sounds she’s known for (east coast club music and sound system culture), this founder of the multi-genre party HEAVY brought the heat. Playing her own, as well as mixing in some old time favorites, she started our evening off the right way!

Up next, Manic Focus. Getting to see this artists was a personal treat for this NYE. Manic was one of the first EDM artists that I got to see live, and just like the first time he was great. This time around, I got the opportunity to really appreciate his visuals and how they intermingle with his beats. Although they were simple, I found them relaxing to watch, and very fitting for the mixes that he was playing. Manic played tons of crowd favorites and after speaking to some of his fans between sets, everyone was stoked with the performance. Hailing from the Windy City- this artists claims no specific genre, but rather continues to evolve his musical fingerprint- channeling blues sounds, while still packing that heavy hitting bass.

Artists: G Jones B2B Eprom

Genre: Bass

The final act before the finale was G Jones B2B Eprom- and let me just say ‘wowza‘. I’ve had the opportunity to not only see this B2B, but also see these artists play separately, and they are amazing either way. The show was jam-packed with black and white visuals, along with a stellar light show. Channeling their characteristic ominous and heavy tones, the two brought the house to peak energy in preparation for Bassnectar.

Bassnectar

To close out the show, and 2018, Bassnectar brought the bass. The beginning of the show was slow and steady, but by the end of the night the entire crowd was chanting and singing along. This year, Nectar played several fan favorites including Wildstyle Method. (Check out the set full set playlist here). After seeing ‘Nectar on several different occasions, this set was by the best show I’ve seen to date!

Venue & Location

This years NYE 360 (2018-2019) was hosted in the beautiful and friendly town of Greensboro, NC. It was a great experience in the city overall. The coliseum was located a little ways from the typical Basshead hotel (The Sheraton). It was a quick Uber ride to and from the event! The security, police and teams inside were absolutely spectacular. I have never attended an event where the teams felt like they were truly there for your care and well-being. Getting into the venue was effortless. Even though were was a bit of a line for GA, it moved quickly. The team was more or less lenient with what they allowed inside. If it was close to the specified ones online, they usually let them inside. I would absolutely return to this venue.

For the hotel, there were several different locations throughout the area, but I stayed in The Sheraton at the Four Seasons. It was great. Staying at the Basshead hotel, I got to meet so many great people as well as got to extend the party after-hours which is always great. Not only were the visitors great, the staff were excellent as well. They were responsive and catered to any needs that I needed/had.

Make sure that you subscribe to get updates about next weeks Ft. Friday!
